Puppet Designer, Maker, Puppeteer

I am a recent graduate student from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, with a BA in Design and Performance and specialising in puppetry design, making and puppeteering.

I grew up in and around nature and especially enjoyed visiting local bird reserves. This love and care for nature has led to an interest in making animal puppets. I like exploring mechanisms and realistic movement qualities to make the puppets naturalistic. Coming from a textile background I enjoy incorporating different fabrics and textures in the puppets. The skills I bring to puppetry are both physical and digital and I enjoy hands-on work: carving, sculpting, laser-cutting and CAD.

I want my puppets to be fun and engaging for children. Iā€™m trying to bring nature to children in schools by using animal puppets, particularly in areas where they might not have much access to wildlife. While celebrating the joyful elements of playfulness and through conscious material choices, I am keen to continue to develop educational, child-friendly performances and workshops that promote environmental awareness in the UK.
